A few months ago I decided to try and see if I could find representation overseas. I think i was sparked by a post I saw in one of the Facebook groups I belong to. During the search, I found a casting website called e-Talenta, The Casting Platform for Europe. It was free to join so I made a profile, setup my search parameters, and started receiving emails for casting calls that fit me.
Over the last few months, I only got an email here and there and the roles never really fit me, so I never submitted. Last week, a casting call came in that fit me perfectly, so I submitted. Earlier this week, I got the audition request. The request came from Sophie Kingston-Smith (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Homeland). The role is a lead role in a limited series and films in Turkey and Kazakhstan. It requires horseback riding (I consider myself an intermediate rider) and sword and fighting skills (took some onscreen fighting classes).
The audition is due next week so I plan to go over the sides this weekend and knock out the audition Sunday night. Wish me luck.
