I’ve had IMDb Pro pretty much since I started acting. Along with the ability to add pictures and videos to your IMDb profile, it has many other benefits. The most valuable benefit of having IMDb Pro is the ability to research. It’s how I found my manager and I’ve researched agencies in LA and NY that I want to submit to.
I’ve also been contacted for projects by being found on IMDb. Used it to submit for acting jobs. Kept up to date with news in the entertainment industry and added myself to projects I’ve been a part of. But this week, I found two new things that I can do with an IMDb Pro account that none of my actor friends knew about so I thought I would share.
You Can Add Additional Credits
Everyone knows that IMDb tracks credits in movies and TV shows, but you can also add additional credits of projects that you have been a part of. If you go to your page and select the credits tab and scroll all the way down, you can add your credits for commercials, industrials, music videos, theater and more.
These credits don’t show up on your IMDb page as credits, but they do when the person looking you up also has an IMDb Pro account.
You Can See Upcoming Projects
If you go to the main page of IMDb Pro and look at the right side of the page, scroll down to the 4th box, you will see “Trending Pre-Release Titles” in development. At the bottom of the box is a link “see all in development”. Click that and you will see every project in development.
It took me a year and a half to learn these things and I’m sure I’ll learn more. As I do, I will share it.
