Professional Resume Formatting for Film

Below is a copy of my resume and it’s formatted the way a professional resume should be formatted.

Film and TV should be separate categories. (I have no TV credits yet). Then it’s the Film Title. Supporting or Lead (no need to put the actual role), and the Production Company or Director. (The director name should be used over production company if it’s a well known director).

Theater you would have the Play Name, the Actual Role (and theater name in parenthesis) and the Director.

Commercial would be What Commercial, Principal or Featured, and then Media Company.

I have added links to my reel, IG, IMDb and email addresses of myself and agent in the PDF document. If anyone clicks on the links, it takes them to my sites and clicking the email will open a new email with the email address already populated into it.

I went with a simple format which is easy to read and gives me room to add more credits. Some actors have their stats on their resume like height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc…, but that’s a preference. I also find it pointless to put a picture on my resume as I always send my headshots along with my resume.

For skills, I went to my profile on Actor’s Access and Backstage and just picked everything that fit me and then added it to my resume so I wouldn’t miss anything.
